Pano Karatassos, corporate chef at Kyma restaurant in Atlanta, poses for a portrait there on Thursday, April 23, 2020. Brian Kemp, the Republican governor of Georgia, announced earlier this week that restaurants and several other service industry businesses could reopen on Friday, April 24. This comes despite the warnings of health and epidemiology experts that a spike in coronavirus cases is very likely.
Mr. Karatassos, who operates several restaurants in Atlanta, plans on opening a few eateries next Thursday, April 30, but will wait about three weeks to open Kyma.
