Ryan Pernice, owner/operator of Osteria Mattone restaurant in Roswell, poses for a portrait there on Thursday, April 23, 2020. Brian Kemp, the Republican governor of Georgia, announced earlier this week that restaurants and several other service industry businesses could reopen on Friday, April 24. This comes despite the warnings of health and epidemiology experts that a spike in coronavirus cases is very likely.

Mr. Pernice said he will likely start offering patrons the option to dine on the patio at Osteria Mattone (pictured here), if things are going well, the first or second week of May.
